The deputy of the Socialist Party, Lavrdim Krrashi, says that at the meeting of the SP Parliamentary Group, Prime Minister Edi Rama demanded discipline from the deputies.
Krrashi denied that there were threats from the head of the government and that it was a routine meeting, unlike what was reported yesterday.
According to him, there is no reason to hold early elections.
"Monday's meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party is something routine, it happens all the time. I will maintain the confidentiality of the situation. As in any meeting, it is not the first time it has been discussed. It's not about threats, it's about discipline. There is no directive in relation to the opposition. The opposition has its job, we have our job. Citizens have the opportunity to see who is working and who is blocking. Currently, we are in a situation where the Socialist Party is fulfilling its responsibility until 2025. Looking at how things are going, I see no reason for early elections. Whenever the Socialist Party is called for accountability before the electorate, it goes prepared, with a clear program for a fourth term", he emphasized.
Regarding the tensions in the Assembly and the change in the regulation, Krrashi called on the opposition MPs to return to normality.
"I would very much like that this Thursday, the opposition MPs return to normality, return to the parliament, it is a place to debate and discuss. Seeing the approach that the opposition has in parliament, I feel sorry. The Socialist Party and the Assembly have no other alternative, except for these punitive measures. I hope that the colleagues of the opposition, instead of making nonsense, come and discuss. I don't think punitive measures are a positive thing, but we are forced to," said the socialist MP.
