Democratic Party MP Luan Baçi has said that the current electoral code is the worst code Albania has ever had. Baçi said that he is not happy that he is a member of a closed list that has not been voted on.
He also emphasized that the 2021 electoral code was better, as according to him, all candidates were exposed to citizens.
"My personal opinion is that I did not agree and I openly opposed the approved electoral code even in the studio. I did not agree to such an electoral code for closed lists and open lists.
For me, it is the worst electoral code our country has ever had and it must be changed, it must definitely be changed. I do not feel good about being a member of Parliament on a closed list that I was not voted for.
"I say this honestly, I don't like it at all that they tell me 'you are an appointee'. It was different in 2021, at least it was an open list, despite it being with a first-half defense, but we were all exposed to the citizens," said Baçi, among other things, on the 'Off the Record' show on A2 CNN.
