The meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party held on June 6, 2023 has ended after 10 hours.
In the midst of tensions, the presidency decided to open the election process and hold elections for the President of the DP on July 29, 2023.
The decision was approved with 17 votes in favor, 2 votes against and 3 abstentions.
Deputies who are simultaneously members of the Presidency asked for the postponement of the race, while other members of the Presidency were held accountable even though they have not been very active in the campaign, mainly that of Tirana. The last hours of the meeting were accompanied by tensions and high tones.
While the members of the presidency held the last discussions, a group of DP militants (supporters of Lulzim Basha) gathered outside, demanding a decision.
Gazment Bardhi, Saimir Korreshi, Helidon Bushati, Dashnor Sula, Lefter Geshtenja, Bledion Nallbati, Dhurata Çupi left the meeting before the others, around 1 am.
During the departure from the meeting, the deputies were insulted and insulted by the militants.

FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE ELECTION PROCESS FOR CHAIRMAN OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
In support of point 6, article 10, articles 24,25,45, 46 and 53 of the DPSH Statute, assessing the difficult situation we have been through, the current situation of the party structures and the vacancies created at several levels by starting from the President of the DPSH to the base, based on the request of the College of Presidents for the urgent need for the immediate holding of the elections for the President of the DPSH as well as the complete reorganization of the party, the Presidency of the Party at the meeting of June 6, 2023
DECIDE:
The immediate start of the membership identification process, and the organization of the elections for the president of the DPSH.
1. In each PD branch, by July 15, the complete process of recording members with the right to vote is carried out according to the provisions of Article 25 of the statute.
a. Kryetari i degës ngre grupin e punës të degës i cili ka për detyrë të kryejë evidentimin e antarëve me të drejtë vote;
b. Grupi i punës në degë bën evidentimin e antarësisë dhe strukturave në detyrë brenda datës 13 korrik.
c. Lista e përpiluar sipas formatit në aneksin 2 depozitohet pranë sekretariatit të PDSH.
Komisioni Zgjedhor përpilon listën kombëtare të antarësisë me të drejtë vote sipas përcaktimeve të nenit 25.
2. Organizimi i procesit për zgjedhjen e kryetarit të PDSH:
a. Procesi zgjedhor drejtohet nga Komisioni Zgjedhor i Partisë;
b. Pranë Komisionit Zgjedhor, secili kandidat paraqet kërkesën për kandidim brenda datës 20 Qershor 2023;
c. Fushata zgjedhore zhvillohet nga data 24 Qershor deri në datën 27 korrik 2023;
d. Zgjedhjet për kryetar të PDSH zhvillohen në datë 29 korrik 2023.
3. The presidency of the PDSH, by June 12, 2023, appoints working groups at the district level that, in cooperation with the branches, supervise the process of identifying the membership;
4. The extraordinary statutory assembly takes place within the month of September 2023;
5. The General Secretary, the Secretariat and the Electoral Commission are charged with the notification and follow-up of the implementation of this decision.
