African immigrants officially in Albania/ Parliament approves pact with Italy,
Today's session in the Assembly

As the Criminal Amnesty law was withdrawn, amid chaos and noise, the Albanian Parliament approved the agreement with Italy with 77 in favor, none against and no abstentions.

The PDIU joined the votes with the SP.

After the plenary session, PDIU deputy Mesila Doda justified the votes with SP and said that this political force voted for the agreement with Italy, since this country has been by Albania's side whenever there was a crisis.

"We are talking about a friendly country that always supported us in the integration process and during crises. The agreement would have to be supported by all. For the issue of amnesty, it depends on the layers that benefit. Parliament is not for war, it is to find the best laws for the country. We must have the opportunity to have our say. I will have to read the draft as I don't have a final one," declared Mesila Doda.

Now everything is done and the African immigrants from Italy will be brought to Shengjin.

Last week, the agreement received "OK" also from the Constitutional Court, as a pact in accordance with the Constitution, rejecting the proposals of the opposition.

This agreement envisages the construction in our country of camps that will host African immigrants returned from Italy, until their documentation is completed, where it will be seen whether they will receive asylum or not.

The agreement has been opposed by the opposition in both countries, but also by senior representatives of the EU, who have expressed their skepticism about it.

Also today, the Assembly with 74 votes in favor approved the legal amendments to the law on protected areas.

The Assembly also removed the draft law on "Criminal Amnesty" from the agenda, as the majority did not secure enough votes to approve it.

Speaker Nikola voted to remove the bill from the agenda, which was approved with 74 votes in favor.

Meanwhile, the Parliament has voted the agreement for immigrants with Italy.

The 'crash' for criminal amnesty

An amendment by the socialist deputy, Plarent Ndreca, relator of the draft law, led the chief democrat Lulzim Basha to accuse the SP of trying to save corrupt officials. However, the SP says that it is a question of reducing the sentence by 1 year for men and 1 and a half years for women and minors, even for those who have been sentenced by the Criminal Code, who were previously excluded from the beneficiaries. However, Minister Manja did not close the door to discussions, saying that they are open to finding a consensus.
