On the last day of the year, Sali Berisha returned to the podium in front of the Prime Minister's Office, in what was the sixth podium, giving a clear message: the new year will begin with new protests and an escalation of opposition action.
One of the main topics Berisha touched on was the multi-day water shortage crisis in the city of Vlora, which he described as a clear reflection of the disintegration of the state. He mentioned the director of the Vlora water supply who a few months ago “bragged to journalists that citizens don’t even make a phone call when they are without water,” while today, Berisha said, “they took him by the throat and fired him.”
According to the opposition leader, the government does not even have human sensitivity towards public disasters, but turns them into propaganda scenes, while citizens are suffering from the lack of basic services.
" Albanians are eagerly awaiting the removal of this gang from power. I guarantee you that the opposition is stronger than ever today. It is more determined than ever to fulfill its mission. No one should forget that the strength of ideals is the greatest weapon of all weapons. Those with ideals are invincible. This regime is crumbling and rotting with every passing moment. Five days without water, following that event in the numerous videos that are circulating, when just a few months ago the water supply director told journalists that they had been without water for three days and did not make a phone call about the concern. The director spoke the truth, the citizens of Vlora took the morsel of the gala in their mouths, they expelled them ," said Berisha.
