During the speech at the civic gathering, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha spoke about the departure of young people from Albania. According to him, teenagers and young people are fleeing Albania because the tyranny of poverty from theft is weighing on them.
Berisha said that this is not only a battle of ambitions, nor of seats of power.

My friends, today I read one of the darkest news. Eurostat announced that Albania is the second country in the world for the departure of teenagers from it.
That Albania was ranked after Syria, plagued by a terrible civil war, in second place in the world and before Afghanistan for the removal of girls and boys under 18 years of age.
This news took me to my memory in July 1990. A neighbor, working family with the date July 1, the son asked the mother, buy me a shirt. He was a teenager. The mother replied: "bad mother, I can't buy this 15-day-old." And the boy left the house, entered the embassy to find his fate.
My friends, today after 32 years it is not about buying a shirt or a sweater.
But it is because the teenager, the young man, the young woman, see that they cannot live at the expense of their parents.
They see that living at the expense of their parents is a terrible impoverishment.
So they take the paths of their destiny.
They leave alone because a terrible tyranny is weighing on you citizens. The tyranny of poverty by theft. Theft and only the theft", said Berisha.
