Today's plenary session continued with debates and mutual accusations between the opposition and the majority. The quarrel began after DP MP Jorida Tabaku spoke out against the draft law on the procedure for the construction of public ports. According to her, the laws coming from the majority favor the oligarchs.
On the other hand, the Minister of Economy Delina Ibrahimaj reacted, rejecting Tabaku's claims and adding that she would not deal with innuendos and specific names. Meanwhile, the head of the DP group Gazment Bardhi intervened from the country, asking Ibrahimaj not to interrupt Tabaku when he was speaking and also to account for the funds he gave to her husband.
Excerpts from the debate in the Parliament:
Ibrahimaj : The philosophy of governance that you are criticizing is the one that has supported the tourism sector to multiply the number of tourists and the number of incomes, jobs and tourism businesses. It is that philosophy that has performed with economic growth since it took office. It is that philosophy that has caused the debt to be reduced from year to year. It is that philosophy that brings this law that reduces the time for providing a service to the business. And why does a business have an interest in developing a project that is categorized as a strategic investment, we must reject it because it has to go through another procedure for the sea and another for the strategic investment.
Tabaku : What I said is that this economic model has brought about what the government philosophy has done to the economy. The government philosophy has reduced agriculture to the lowest possible level. It has devalued the euro, it has criminalized the economy. It approves 17 VKMs for investors in 10 hours and in 10 hours it brings laws that protect the interests of the oligarchs. The minister should tell us whose interests she is protecting today with the tourist ports law. We are used to these fairy tales that come with messages, they have gone and others have come in succession, just as the minister will leave never to return.
Ibrahimaj : In honor of the position I hold, I do not engage in debates that personally affect a deputy, minister or individual in the session. I find it difficult that a deputy with such a long experience makes allusions that are inappropriate. That governing philosophy that we have left thousands of people without jobs is not based on facts. The facts show that unemployment has fallen. The structure of the economy has affected that or jobs that are low-cost are being transformed into jobs with higher salaries.
Gazment Bardhi : Shut up. The MP is speaking, no one offended you. Come out and give an account of the wealth there, corrupt. Come out and give an account of the funds you gave to your husband.
Tabaku : The minister should apologize, no one can make threats, you dare or you don't dare.
