The announced conference of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has been canceled.
This cancellation comes a day after SPAK launched investigations into the Democratic Party's contract with a lobbying company in the United States. Berisha preempted questions about the 6 million euro lobbying contract and canceled the press conference.
The contract bears the signature of the Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Albania, Flamur Noka, with the guarantor Albanian-American Nuredin Seci, in which it was announced that the Democratic Party would pay the American company 6 million dollars over two years.
The DP has so far prepaid $750,000, while the rest will be paid in installments of $250,000 per month for a period of two years. The guarantor of the hefty contract is Nuredin Seci, an Albanian-American originally from Tropoja, who lives in New York.
The DP justified the cancellation of Sali Berisha's conference for this Monday with the doctor's busy agenda at the beginning of this week, although he found time to hold an electoral meeting at a tailor's shop.
