Berisha's lobbying for the removal of "non grata", new parties

Opposition representatives view Sali Berisha's lobbying contract in the US with suspicion. Endri Shabani says the value of the contract is equivalent to 12 thousand average salaries, while for Arlind Qori the money for such financing comes from oligarchs and organized crime.

New opposition parties are eyeing the Democratic Party's $6 million lobbying contract in the US with suspicion.

Endri Shabani of "Nisma Thurrje" illustrates the opinion on lobbying by taking out a jar of rice grains, where he makes an ironic distinction regarding the case.

"They take the average salary of 12,000 Democrats and put it in their pockets for lobbying for God knows what," says Shabani.

Arlind Qori, head of the "Together Movement", adds that this case of lobbying in the US with 6 million dollars is scandalous and raises the question 'where do they find the money?'

For Shabani, the amount of money that the DP will pay smells of corruption.

"If you have enough money for 120 thousand in economic aid or 12 thousand average salaries to give to a lobbyist, you are no longer in opposition, you are in power and you are corrupt," says Shabani.

Arlind Qori of the Together Movement also raises the same doubt about the source of the money.

"They certainly find the money from illegal sources, from the economic oligarchy, from organized crime, from people who invest today to receive benefits tomorrow," he said.

For Shabani and Qori, Berisha's contract in the US, in addition to an attempt to remove his stigma as undesirable from the State Department, is a sign that he has lost the trust of voters within the country.

"The need for external legitimacy. It shows that they have lost the trust of the citizens here. Those who have stolen and humiliated Albania for 34 years need makeup, they need lobbying, they need to use part of the stolen money to retouch their image ," says Qori.

They say it is imperative that the country's laws be tightened to prevent the financing of political parties with dubious money.

"We have proposed a draft law that would provide funding only from the state budget ," says Shabani.

"The current legal framework has many holes and all these things happen not only because they violate the law, but also because there are legal deficiencies. A new, very strict framework is needed ," says Qori.

Meanwhile, there has been no reaction from other opposition parties, rivals in these elections./ Report Tv
