Rama receives strong message from EU regarding protests...
Albania has taken another step in the European integration process today. The 9th intergovernmental conference between Albania and the European Union took place in Brussels, where the closure of the first three negotiation chapters was formalized: Chapter 25 - Science and Research, Chapter 26 - Education and Culture, and Chapter 30 - External Relations.
The European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, has called this an important moment for the country and a significant step in the European Union's enlargement process.
At the 9th Albania-EU intergovernmental conference, Kos said that the closure of Chapters 25, 26 and 30 was made possible thanks to Albania's progress in fulfilling the interim milestones on the rule of law, while emphasizing that work on reforms must continue.
" Today we closed the first three chapters with Albania. It is a great moment for the country, it is 'Super Tuesday' for enlargement. We closed the chapters on education, scientific research and external relations, while 30 others remain. Albania is part of the European family and has been in full compliance with the European Union. More than 50 thousand students have participated in the Erasmus Plus program. Congratulations to our Albanian friends, because this became possible after Albania fulfilled the intermediate points on the rule of law. This is an intermediate step, which means that reforms must continue and deepen. Albania moves forward towards the ambitious objective of completing negotiations by the end of 2027 ," Kos declared.
The European Commissioner also focused on the support of Albanian citizens for membership in the European Union, referring to a recent survey.
" We encourage continued progress in justice, anti-corruption and the fight against organised crime. We insist on fundamental reforms. The latest poll shows that in Albania 92 percent of citizens are in favour of membership, 94 percent think that membership will bring more benefits and 93 percent trust the European Union. Reforms only succeed if all those affected by them are heard. I will be by your side until the end of my mandate ", said Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama said that the closure of the three chapters represents another important moment in the process of Albania's integration into the European Union.
" What happened now truly marks another milestone in Albania's irreversible journey to the EU. We have just agreed to close three important negotiating chapters. This is not just a step, but an assessment that Albania is moving forward, that reforms are yielding results. Today is also important because it emphasizes a very important message: Albania delivers results, the EU delivers results. Albania moves forward and the EU reacts to this ," said Rama.
Asked about the debates that the Zvërnec project has caused in the European Parliament, Rama stated that the European Commission is informed of every development and that there is no reason for concern.
But the strong message came from Marta Kos: " Even before the protests, we agreed to repeal the amendments for 2024 for protected areas and strategic investments, these would be done for chapter 27. I would encourage the authorities as soon as possible. Protests are part of democratic processes and the way countries handle these protests is part of democratic processes. It's what I said, the accession process is an ongoing process. Albania must harmonize the legislation we agreed on ."
Na duhet të shfuqizojmë ligjin për investimet strategjike, sepse kemi disa kohë që kemi rënë dakord dhe po punojmë ngushtësisht për atë që do ta zëvendësojë. Se ligji e ka përmbushur misionin–tha Rama. Po ashtu do të shfuqizohet edhe ligji i 2024 për zonat e mbrojtura.–siç tha Marta Kos. ___________________________________ Shënim: Po mirë mo, që ligji i investimeve strategjike e ka përmbushur misionin, e dimë, se elbete Rama s'ka lënë mafioz, oligark, miq partie apo prestanome pa i bërë investitorë strategjik, dhe tashmë s'ka ça jep më, vetëm Sazani dhe Zvërneci kishte ngelur; por problemi është se Rama hiqet sikur bën ligje për në BE. Në 2024 kur bërë ligjin për të ndërtuar në zona të mbrojtura, nuk këshillohesh me BE ky, nuk e dinte që ai ligj binte ndesh me standartet e BE? Si kështu? Bëri ligjin në 2024, shkatërroi zona të mbrojtura dhe tani bën sikur ka ligjin më të mirë për zonat e mbrojtura, sikur e do shumë natyrën dhe BE.
