Former MP Myslim Murrizi has criticized the DP leadership regarding the expected meeting where the party's new leadership will be elected.
Murrizi has demanded that candidates for high positions be made public before the meeting, calling it pointless to keep them hidden until the last minute. According to him, this practice harms the race and does not give members time to get to know the names or the candidates to lobby.
" We are a legal political party and the National Council must be familiar with the candidates before going into the voting process. Reading the names at the meeting finds the members unprepared. I don't know why this is a last-minute secret. Even the lists of candidates for deputies are secretly submitted at the end of the deadline. I don't know why an opposition party has any embarrassment in not making these names public ," Murrizi declared on "News 24".
He directly called on Berisha to abandon this leadership model and allow an open campaign within the party.
" Let Berisha make the candidates he has in mind public before the national council meeting. There is no need to keep the party a top secret from everyone. What harm would it do to have 3 days of campaigning for those aiming for high positions in the DP? ", he asked.
At the end of his speech, Murrizi issued a strong message to the party leadership, emphasizing that by excluding people with popular support, the DP can never come to power: " You don't want a winning DP if you hate people who have votes and promote people who don't have a single vote! "
