The former speaker of the Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, considers today's decision of the GJKKO on the measure against Sali Berisha to be a brutal execution of the opposition.
Topallli calls the decision a shameful political process
" Today's decision to arrest the Leader of the opposition, (because the latter has implemented his electoral program) is the brutal execution of the opposition, (which brings to mind the execution of the group of deputies by Enver Hoxha in "46); It is the message of the shock of faith, that in our country there will be real pluralism or the rule of law.
Today's decision of the judge removed from the justice system for corruption by former President Berisha, is the most incredible irony of this whole shameful, purely political process.
It is now clear to any average person that judges have turned into notaries of political investigators!
Today's decision for a file, which has no case, no evidence, no facts, which was raised on serious constitutional and legal violations, which was initiated by the government, and above all because of the fault that the former Prime Minister voted for a law, which was in his electoral program, is a pillar for the state!
Today's decision elevates even more the leader of the opposition, Mr. Sali Berisha, who, like no one else, has defended the pluralism of the Constitution as befits a leader, who founded, together with his co-workers of the time, the first opposition party against one of the most brutal dictatorships that our history has known.
Sali Berisha is the most voted politician in 3 decades!
Today's political decision to arrest the former President, former Prime Minister, Leader of the opposition has only elevated Sali Berisha to the pedestal, turning him into a titan; ...but it diminishes all of us, diminishes and shames us as a society.
The inquisition against him is unbelievable.
By court decision, he is not recognized as the Chairman of the Democratic Party even though he was voted by a majority of the Democrats. This does not happen even in authoritarian regimes.
With a shameful and political decision of the court, the name and seal of the Democratic Party was stolen.
With a political decision, his name was removed from the ballot, his right to be his representatives in commissions, his right to finance the party, and his name as the leader of the coalition were removed.
With a political decision, his family members are put in prison.
Meanwhile, every day we read about the incredible corruption of the ministers and former ministers of the renaissance... and yet they are free.
And then when you think that this non-stop corruption of Beqaj, for example, is very little compared to the theft scheme of the century of incinerators... you have no choice but to think once again that this country will continue to be abandoned by people, who continue to flee the world from the injustice they experience.
However, today's decision to arrest the Leader of the opposition, accompanied by the obligation not to communicate with anyone, is surreal.
This decision surpasses even countries like Myanmar (in far Asia), where they arrested the leader of the opposition, but did not go so far as to stop her communication.
This is the most eloquent expression of the fact that today's decision of the court is not only political and ordered, but that it demonstrates the hatred and fear they have of the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Sali Berisha.
Fear of the truths he says; fear of denouncing government affairs and scandals; fear of the nomination of criminals who cooperate with the government; afraid of the fact that he alone has collected over half a million votes without his name on the ballot, without the name of the party in front of all the money machinery of criminal gangs.
Today, Albania is smaller.
The orderers and enforcers do not even manage to hide their hatred and revenge, so much so that they gave their decision on the eve of the new year, just as they signed the first letter against Mr. Sali Berisha, on his birthday.
Even in times of war, there is a truce on the eve of holidays.
In these conditions, the only reaction of the citizens is the way out.
When injustice becomes a law, resistance becomes a duty! "- writes Topalli.
