The Democratic Party has issued an official announcement regarding the primaries process held yesterday in each branch of the DP for the May elections.
The DP announces that 50,854 people voted and that the final KOKOE results will be published only after verification of the original election materials.
According to the DP, the voting process was peaceful and in compliance with the regulations and instructions of the KOKOE. The announcement states that most of the election materials have been received and the KOKOE is awaiting other materials, which have been delayed due to the prolonged counting process in some branches.

Responding to the great interest of the media but also of the candidates or members of the DP, KOKOE announces:
On March 1, elections were organized for the 2025 Primary for the May 11 Assembly.
The primaries process was organized in all branches of the DP.
Voting began at 8:00 a.m. and closed in almost all centers at 6:00 p.m. In some centers, voting continued until the last DP member in line voted.
The voting process was peaceful and in compliance with KOKOE regulations and instructions.
The turnout in the Primary elections was the highest among the elections organized by any political party in Albania.
As we have informed you in real time, the number of voters (based on preliminary data received electronically from KOKOE) is: 50,854.
The vote counting process, which ended in the early hours of this morning, was open to the media and journalists, widely broadcast LIVE and took place in a concentrated manner in the district centers, in the presence of candidates or their authorized representatives.
As stipulated in KOKOE Decision No. 36, “an original copy of the minutes of the closing of voting shall be delivered by hand to KOKOE no later than 12:00 on March 2, 2025. The submission of electoral materials to KOKOE by the Counting Commissions shall be made by 1:00 p.m. on March 2.”
KOKOE announces that most of the election materials have arrived and is awaiting materials that have not yet arrived, this being caused by the prolonged counting process in some branches.
KOKOE is reviewing all election materials and will subsequently publish the Decisions on the results of the Primary Elections at the District level.
KOKOE informs that two VCs in Tirana and 1 VC in Vlora have had problems that require KOKOE's decision-making.
Any result is considered preliminary and where VC results are missing, it is considered non-final, pending the final decision of KOKOE.
KOKOE announces that it is standing by, verifying election materials in the order of arrival, continuously.
The final results of the KOKOE are published only after verification of the original election materials and the KOKOE decisions on the above-mentioned cases.
