Unlike the positions he has held in Tirana in recent weeks, Prime Minister Edi Rama has turned the tables and made another promise to immigrants in Athens at the international job fair for Albanian justice.
'We are very determined not to affect the independence of justice,' said the prime minister.
In response to statements that he should leave the government because his ministers are in prison, Rama said that for the first time in history, those connected to power are not untouchable, but in prison.
With these achievements, according to Rama, the country is on the path to the European Union.
"Rama must go because all his ministers went to prison and now it's Rama's turn. What is important to share with you is that precisely because of what they say that I and we should lower our heads, we should be proud that for the first time in history since 1912, those who are connected to power are not untouchable, for the first time since 1912, our power handed over the sword of punishment to another power. Until we took office and we did not take it to warm eggs but to make Albania a member, the sword of punishment was in the hands of the powers," said Rama.
Rama further reiterated his determination not to affect the independence of the judiciary, despite the fact that in recent weeks attacks and threats against SPAK prosecutors and others have not stopped at almost every public appearance.
He said he has taken on the mission to lead Albania towards the EU, not to find jobs.
"Today this has changed because we have handed over the sword to the power of justice and have made our body available for any case when justice seeks to intervene to remove a tumor. Only in this way can we seriously fight corruption and become equal to those who see us from a distance and are at the EU table. Justice in Albania has no tradition of independence and this will take time. We are very determined not to affect the independence of justice. We are very determined to endure the unjust pain because we have taken on the mission of leading Albania not to find jobs. Our job is not a job like all the others, but it is a mission", the prime minister explained.
