The Special Committee for Administrative-Territorial Reform was held today with strong debates and retorts between the deputies of the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party. A debate was held between the Democratic deputies, Luciano Boçi and Ina Zhupa, and the Socialist Erion Isai.
During the discussions, Socialist MP Erion Isai spoke about the changes in governance after 2013, arguing that there have been qualitative improvements in several aspects of the country's administration.
Referring to the protests, Isai stated that according to him there is a difference between different political periods in relation to the treatment of protesters.
"Yes, you protested and you were killed, you protested - you weren't killed. It's a big qualitative change," said Isai.
This statement brought the reaction of Democratic MP Luciano Boçi, who opposed Isai's interpretation of past events and accused him of taking on the role of prosecutor and judge.
"When you come to kill, it probably happens. You know what those events are like, so don't take on the role of prosecutor and judge," said Boçi.
The debate continued with other replies between the two MPs, where Isai also used ironic comparisons regarding participation in protests.
Democratic MP Ina Zhupa also intervened in the discussion, asking Isai if he had been to the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) during the day.
Isai confirmed that he had been to SPAK and said that he would appear whenever necessary, adding that he accepts justice and legal processes.
Afterwards, Boçi ironized the SPAK appearances with a comment about "birds" and "animals," while Isai replied: "To people who accept justice."
Debate:
Erion Isai: I am the one who says that rural roads have not been maintained well, I am the one who says yes, we are talking about Albania, 2013 before, 2013 after, there is no reason why there should be a qualitative change in governance. And since you said about the protest, Mrs. Zhupa, yes, you protested and were killed, you protested - you were not killed. It is a big qualitative change.
Luciano Boçi: The part about the protest, that this protest is beautiful, It's beautiful what those who protest do, unlike that protest you mentioned, who come there and then get killed. Because when it comes to killing, maybe it happens, you know what those events are like, so don't take on the role of prosecutor and judge.
Erion Isai: The only problem is that there are more pelicans than owls in the square.
Luciano Boci: Leave it now
Erion Isai: How were they killed? I was a student at the Academy of Arts, I was part of the protest.
Luciano Boçi: Ina Zhupa: Mr. Isai, were you at SPAK today?
Erion Isai: I'm curious, no no, when are you going to applaud at the door of SPAK. When are you applauding? I was and will go whenever necessary. You see SPAK with two magnifying glasses, once in protest and once with two magnifying glasses, once in protest, once you tell me.
Luciano Boçi: Also define for us from this aspect of natural confrontation, that those of you who go to SPAK, which type you are entering, birds and animals.
Erion Isai: To people who accept justice.
