Ambassador Yuri Kim, at the end of her mandate as a diplomat in Albania, chose to organize a press conference with journalists at the premises of the American embassy in Tirana.
After Albania, Kim will take a new job in the US Department of State where he will have responsibility for all of Europe.
But in the end, the American ambassador also gave a message why she chose to organize this live press conference with journalists.
"In closing, let me say that the reason I wanted to have this press conference together to do it live, to have it live so that I wouldn't have gone through the questions that you were going to ask, is to remind you everyone for the essential critical role that an independent media has in a democracy, in a country.
Media portals can be business, but journalists have responsibilities. Your job as journalists is to ask tough questions about your country. And my job and the job of every senior official is to answer your questions truthfully and completely. Each of us uses our own techniques. It is important that we give answers. The reason is because I respect you because you represent the people, you represent the people," stated US Ambassador Yuri Kim.
