The US ambassador, Yuri Kim, gave a message today to Albin Kurti and Aleksandër Vucic.
Kim said that the two sides should consider friendly countries and not act with personal ego because the problem is not personal but national.
" The US position is clear. The leaders of Kosovo and Serbia agreed on the association draft, but not only on this, but on the way forward that will end with the recognition of Kosovo. I don't believe that it will be necessary to recall how much the USA believes in Kosovo. The affection and commitment we have for an independent Kosovo. If you need proof, go a little later, a few years later. The problem is what are the steps and sequences to be followed for the two parties to move forward. And this is a time for leaders to put aside egos and think about national pride. About what their friends tell them and take into consideration what their friends tell them. - said Kim.
Three border officials were kidnapped on June 14 by Serbian forces during a patrol on the border line in the north of Kosovo. The police have announced that the police unit has been on duty deep within the territory of Kosovo to prevent the use of illegal roads. The three policemen kidnapped by Serbian forces on Friday (June 16) have been remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, the United States of America, Great Britain, and Germany have called for the immediate release of three Kosovo police officers, arrested in the north by Serbian forces.
