The head of Nisma Thurje, Endri Shabani, has commented on the political situation in the country. During an interview for "SOT" newspaper, Mr. Shabani emphasized that the relationship between Meta and Berisha is like the bosses of Cosa Nostra and Camorra, while the ex-president's deviation comes precisely from the advancement of the work of the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) as it belongs to some files he is investigating, where the leader of the Freedom Party is suspected to be involved. Likewise, the politician Shabani shows how the mafia network that has gripped Albania is being dismantled, where according to him, oligarchs, media owners and important politicians are expected to go to prison.
-Mr. Shabani, Ilir Meta has been under investigation for more than two years despite the fact that there is no concrete investigation against him, there is a report against Mr. Meta and SPAK has not made any kind of reaction during this time, how did you read it as a strategy of SPAK to gather as many facts and evidence as possible, or is there really something to blame and make Mr. Meta responsible?
I think that's how justice should work. It is absurd that we find out in real time on television how the investigation is going. This leak of information that we are used to seeing undermines investigations and obstructs justice. So the fact that SPAK has managed to investigate for a long time without debunking the information, shows that SPAK is creating a new standard of investigation in Albania. There are so many reports from lawyers, lawyers and SPAK, but there is still no concrete thing, this shows that SPAK has not been able to make a report against Meta... I think that the investigations for the Meta family should be at the end of them, and I say this because I see how Ilir Meta has lost his way. I think this deviation of the former president comes precisely from the advancement of SPAK's work.
- Do you have a comment on Meta's attacks on SPAK?
In a way there is nothing new in these attacks. For three decades, Meta Berisha and Rama have been inviolable, and every time a prosecutor tried to take his foot out of the circle, they were punished with a house book. Berisha and Meta, being more primitive, make this attack in the first person, but Rama is not left behind either, only that he attacks them in a more sophisticated way, through portals, analysts and third actors. And yet there is something sad when you see how banal a man like Ilir Meta is, whom this people has made prime minister, president, speaker of the assembly, foreign minister, deputy and many other public functions. When I hear Meta's banal language, I think who has governed this country.
- How do you read the action of Meta, who says that by fighting nepotism, he removes his wife, Monika Kryemadhi, from the Freedom Party? Why does Meta care about the departure of Kryemadhi...
I haven't followed and don't care at all about their family soap opera. I don't go into people's family relationships so I don't feel comfortable commenting on fights or games between husband and wife.
- How do you see the relationship between Berisha and Mr. Meta?
Like the relationship between the bosses of Cosa Nostra and the Camorras. The capos of the two mafia groups, who sometimes fight, sometimes cooperate, but at the end of the day, their goal is to strengthen their own gangs while they pile up the victims of innocent people.
- The Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) is investigating several "scalding" cases. Do you believe that those who until yesterday were part of the "untouchables" will give an account before justice regarding the corrupt and criminal affairs in which they are suspected to have been involved?
I am convinced that the time of impunity is over. Those who do not understand this have closed their eyes and hope they are dreaming. Also, the 'Rama' government has a lot to do with justice, as ministers, vice-ministers, MPs and former MPs or mayors and former mayors are being investigated by SPAK or some are candidates to be the subject of the Special Prosecutor's Office . Is this situation normal? If we were in another country, the government would have been overthrown... If we were in a normal country, Rama would have been overthrown by vote a long time ago. But here we are in front of a mafia network that has gripped Albania in every corner. SPAK is dismantling this network, arresting mafia groups, investigating oligarchs and media owners and putting behind bars those powerful politicians who, not even in their worst nightmares, have imagined that they will account for what they have taken from Albanians. and what they have done to Albania. / Today
