The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, participated this Thursday in the condolence reception organized by the family of Ilir Meta, following the passing of his father, Rexhep Meta.
Berisha arrived at the hotel where the receptions are taking place in Tirana and was initially welcomed by the Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi. He then entered the hall where the Meta family is awaiting condolences from relatives, friends and public figures.
After the visit, the leader of the Democratic Party spoke to the media, expressing condolences for the loss of the Meta family, while at the same time describing the arrest of Ilir Meta as a politically motivated process.
"I express my condolences to the leader of the second largest opposition party, Ilir Meta, on the passing of his father, a respected and devoted man. Expressing my condolences to him and his family, I condemn his arrest in the strongest possible terms."
