The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has described the recent changes in the government by Prime Minister Edi Rama as an attempt to save himself.
In a Facebook post, Berisha called for the immediate resignation of the prime minister, holding him responsible for the crisis the country is experiencing. He also called on citizens and the opposition to continue the protests to oust Rama.
"Edi Rama's latest move is a move with which he seeks to save his own skin, but it is a move that invites Albanian citizens, the Albanian opposition, to continue the protests strongly, since the peaceful uprising of Albanians has as its major goal the salvation of Albania from Edi Rama and his puppets. With his move, he tries to deceive people at a time when he himself is the head of the criminal organization that he leads. Therefore, I demand his immediate resignation, otherwise he will face the opposition and the Albanian people. Edi Rama has no more spring for your government and for you. You are the cause of all the great problems that Albanians face today. You are the matrix of this great evil that has gripped the being, the soul, the body of Albania," Berisha said, among other things.
