Prime Minister Edi Rama has changed the government cabinet, during a meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group.
Albana Koçiu has taken over as Deputy Prime Minister, replacing Belinda Balluku in this post. Balluku also leaves the leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, which passes to Enea Karakaç.
He has appointed Ferit Hoxha, former Albanian ambassador to the United Nations, to the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, thus removing Elisa Spiropalin from this post.
Rama has dismissed Pirro Vengu, entrusting the Ministry of Defense to Ermal Nufi.
Besfort Lamallari resigns from the Ministry of Justice and takes the position of Minister of Interior. Toni Gogu is appointed as the head of the Ministry of Justice.
Erjona Ismaili takes on the role of Minister for Parliamentary Relations.
The changes affect several key government positions and enter into force after the approval of the relevant procedures.
