Details emerge from the Socialist Party group meeting, which has been going on since the morning. In addition to the speeches given by the ministers, there were also discussions behind closed doors, where the focus was undoubtedly on SPAK's request to lift the immunity of Minister Belinda Balluku.
MPs have been unanimous in their opposition to lifting immunity, arguing that the suspension is sufficient at this stage of the investigation. However, there is no final decision yet on how the vote will be taken.
Rama himself said in his speech that, after seeing the report of the Mandates Council, the final decision will be made. However, the socialists themselves in the Mandates Council have announced a report against the lifting of immunity. The measures taken by SPAK so far for Balluk are sufficient for the investigation , "said Ulsi Manja.
Taulant Balla was also in the same line, stating that they cannot agree with the DP's request for the immediate lifting of immunity.
" No one is guilty as long as there is no final court decision. The other party did not need to be examined, because they had made their decision on the position. In our case, on behalf of the 5 SP deputies, I informed the Mandates Council that, regarding the proposal of the DP group for granting the authorization, we did not agree with the way it was proposed and we will have a discussion and information from my side at the first meeting of the SP parliamentary group. The Council does not grant the authorization, but the plenary session does ," Balla said after the Council meeting.
Balluku himself was absent from this parliamentary group meeting at the Brigades Palace. In the meantime, we will have to wait to see what the official decision will be, although, it is understood, the arrest of the Deputy Prime Minister will not be allowed.
