Sali Berisha and Gazmet Bardhi are heading towards a bargain between them, to come up with a single parliamentary group.
On Monday, the Assembly will start work, as it is known that during the last week there were talks and negotiations between the former prime minister and the Secretary of the DP. It is learned that there were telephone conversations and negotiations between them and the plan is for Bardhi and the few deputies behind him to join Berisha and create a joint parliamentary group. Currently the official group is led by Bardhi and the plan is for all the excluded ones to return and come out with a wider group.
This was also accepted today by Berisha, who said that he is ready for such a scenario.
" The truth is that the group with complete unanimity, after the discussion of each and every member, was of the opinion to continue the negotiations with the other deputies, with Gaz Bardhi, the chairman of the group and others, with the best goal, the achievement of a union. This is after it is established that this will exists from all parties, and I call this decision of the group, a decision in my estimation, fair, in accordance with the interests of the DP, its members and sympathizers. With Mr. Bardhi and every other deputy, except Alibasha and Lul Pengu, this party is and will be open for discussion. And there is no one to tell me in honor that it is the party of the Democrats ", he said.
But what is behind these negotiations? The scenario is that Basha is out of the game. Bardhi has turned into his enemy and just as it was said, he has decided to join Berisha's side.
Basha convenes the National Assembly tomorrow and decisions are expected to be made there to restructure the party, where Gazmet Bardhi will likely be dismissed as secretary and a new group leader will also be appointed.
But, after the departure of Alibeaj, Bardhi took the DP stamp. Given that Berisha holds the seat and Bardhi the seal, their union seems to put Basha out of the game.
The latter is recognized by the court, but without a seal and seat, the fight will be stronger. There will also be a clash in the Assembly about which parliamentary group will be known as the democratic group.
There will most likely be a new court battle. The statutory changes that the Assembly of Basha will approve tomorrow will go to court. And if the latter approves them, then Basha is legitimized as president and the way is also opened for the dismissal of his critics.
