MP Ervin Demo describes his departure from the post of mayor of the city of Berat, after 6 years, as the closing of a cycle to open another chapter in politics.
Demo said that this decision, which came after a conversation with the leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, was not easy, and yet the results of May 11 were an assessment of the work done over the years in this district.
"This city has undergone an extraordinary transformation and the proof is the development of the tourism sector that has included an entire chain of entrepreneurship. I think that politics also has its phases. Now it is a new cycle and I will engage with the same dedication as in Berat and in Parliament ," said SP MP Ervin Demo.
He said that September will be an important month, as it also coincides with the start of the new parliamentary session.
"I believe that after the result on May 11, and in the challenges for ourselves, I believe that September will be an important month for what is expected from the point of view of Albania's development in the next 4 years."
The decision to leave the Berat municipality was not easy. There was also a conversation with the party chairman and I believe that the cycle that I started 6 years ago in Berat and Berat has become one.

I also want to thank the citizens of Berat and that the election result was also due to the work done in the district. I am glad that what I strongly believe, that work and transformation is the best means to do politics, the Berat district confirmed best with the election result.
"The election result was clean and undisputed, which was the contribution of those people who worked for months on the Socialist Party campaign ," Demo told "News 24".
