Blend Sulaj was one of the 5 names that Rama and the Socialist Party put forward on the lists for the May 11 elections.
Sulaj was one of the chairmen of the Tirana branches of the Democratic Party and vice-chairman of the Republican Party.
In Prime Minister Edi Rama's 'Flasim' podcast, Sulaj revealed that he did not expect the trust, while they welcomed his candidacy as an MP.

Sulaj : I am Blend Sulaj, born and raised in Tirana, especially in the old area. My father is from Tirana and my mother is from Gjirokastra. I continued my studies in law. Before graduating from university, I was a lecturer in criminal law. I also started my own business. It was nice to have the desire to be involved in politics, but also with the Socialist Party. We who were involved in the business side noticed this when we went outside Albania. It was very difficult to tell people, "Look, Albania is here. We also wanted to present coffee at an international fair. Before, you would have to present it for two hours. Now it is much simpler. Then this happened, because foreigners knew more about us, through tourism.
Rama : Did you expect to be treated like everyone else?
Sulaj : I didn't expect this trust to be given and they welcomed me very well. Now we have challenges ahead.
