Dashnor Sula appears to be returning to the open lists of the Democratic Party of Elbasan District as a candidate for the May 11 elections.
After expressing anger that he was not a candidate on the closed lists, even though he was declared the winner of the primaries for the Elbasan Region, Sula appeared on the lists of the 'Albania Becomes' Initiative coalition led by Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shabani.
But Sula's name, 19th on the open list of Elbasan in this coalition, only lasted a few hours, after he was deregistered as a candidate. It is not known whether this decision came as a result of the withdrawal of the Democratic MP, after not reaching an agreement on technical elements, or whether he was opposed by exponents of the 'Nisma Thurje'.
This move by Sula raised suspicions that the latter may return to the DP lists, as according to the law, political parties have until midnight on March 15 to make adjustments to the lists, to remove or add candidates.
Reports indicate that negotiations between the DP and Sula are being conducted by several MPs, who seem to have taken on the 'task' of including the 'loser's' name on the Elbasan list.
Sula himself hinted at possible negotiations with the DP to return, and without mentioning names, told Report TV that "it is a moment that the people of the DP are persistently seeking."
His departure from the DP after disappointment with Sali Berisha was commented on at length, even by the leading democrat himself, who from Elbasan on Summer Day said that Sula's departure was an avoidance of the men's battle.
It remains to be seen whether Sula will return to the DP after midnight on March 15, when the parties' time to make adjustments to their lists ends.
Adjustments to the candidate lists, submitted on March 12, are also being made by a number of other parties, while this Saturday, the CEC officially approved the lists of the first party, the Joint Movement of Arlind Qorri.
