The Assembly is holding its plenary session today with the same agenda as last Thursday's session, which was interrupted following incidents caused by Democratic Party deputies.
In today's session at 10:00, the Assembly is expected to approve an agreed draft regarding changes to the Electoral Code regarding the Diaspora vote.
The changes include paying for postage for the return of diaspora votes, counting them by political commissioners, and bringing forward the March 12 deadline for the registration of parties and candidates.
The Assembly will specifically review the draft law “On some additions and amendments to law no. 10 019, dated 29.12.2008, “Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania”, as amended, as well as the draft law “On some additions and amendments to law no. 10 019, dated 29.12.2008, “Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania”, as amended.
Also on the agenda in the Assembly is the draft law "On the ratification of decision no. 1/2024 of the Joint Committee of the Regional Convention on Pan-Euro-Mediterranean Preferential Rules of Origin of 12 December 2024, amending decision no. 1/2023 of the Joint Committee, approved by law no. 59/2024, regarding the use of movement certificates issued electronically, within the framework of this convention, applicable as of 1 January 2025".
The draft law "On some amendments to Law No. 133/2015, "On the treatment of property and the completion of the property compensation process", as amended, will then be discussed.
The Assembly will also consider two draft decisions on the election of the chairman and a member of the Steering Council of the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority. The draft decision “On the election of the Ombudsman” will also be considered.
The session is also expected to review the draft decision "On the appointment of a member of the Board of the Financial Supervisory Authority, who will hold the function of Chairman of the Board". The draft decision "On the approval of the fund for financing the parties participating in the 2025 elections" will also be reviewed.
The Assembly is expected to review the draft decisions for the release of Gëzim Podgorica and Genc Përmet from the position of member of the Steering Council of the Albanian Radio and Television, as well as the draft decisions for the dismissal of Leka Bungo from the position of chairman of the Steering Council of the Albanian Radio and Television, as well as the dismissal from the position of members of the Steering Council of the Albanian Radio and Television, Albert Minga, Ardita Reçi, Dionis Papadhimitri, Edmond Tullumani, Engjëll Ndocaj, Ilir Keko, Mevlan Shanaj and Milena Selimi.
