Nine MPs of the opposition, who are members of the Security Committee, have requested a hearing with the head of SPAK, Altin Duman.
The request of the opposition MPs came after the head of SPAK made a disturbing statement saying that some cases cannot be investigated in the State Police, because its high officials have cooperated with crime.
"The creation of a nucleus of judicial police officers in the state police where we can address our proceedings can be done, but we cooperate with a special structure with the state police directorate. But they are a category of issues that we cannot investigate with the state police, especially those when state police employees are involved. Our investigations have shown that exponents of the state police, even with high positions, have cooperated with organized crime, referring to the cases that we have investigated, and the cases that we are currently investigating. They are a category of issues that we investigate exclusively with BKH. We definitely cooperate with the police and have close cooperation," said Dumani before KLP.
The opposition MPs were triggered by this statement and said that Dumani has reported that the high levels of the State Police have sabotaged important investigations, are unreliable and have hindered the investigation of certain events by making SPAK's investigations difficult.
For this reason, they request Duman at the next meeting of this Commission, to report its findings, and the concerns about this problem, which they consider a serious problem for national security.
The MPs who made the request are Ferdinand Xhaferi, Lindita Metaliaj, Isu Çelaj, Flamur Noka, Asllan Dogjani, Ervin Salianji, Lefter Gështenja, Kasem Mahmutaj, as well as Monika Kryemadhi.
Regarding Duman's statement, Minister Taulant Balla also reacted earlier, saying that the cooperation of the police with SPAK is excellent and that there was no de-conspiracy in the operations of the State Police and the Special Prosecutor's Office.
