The Democratic Party has announced the next national protest on February 20, while it remains unclear whether other opposition parties will join this initiative.

The leader of the "Albania Becomes" movement, Adriatik Lapaj, stated in a live broadcast with the "Today Live in Albania" show that their participation is conditioned by the form of organization of the protest. According to him, the only way is a protest without party logos, with civic unity beyond political boundaries.

"There is no owner of the square. The whole discussion is that what is being done should serve the cause of change. It is not a question of who joins with whom. It is a question of who is against Edi Rama and takes seriously his obligation to resign after he and his government were caught red-handed stealing, embezzling public funds and causing extraordinary damage to this country."

From the first day, we have said that in this square we are open to seeing and would be happy to see different groups, political parties, civil society organizations, intellectuals who, in the face of the injustice that is happening and who express their revolt in statuses on Facebook, television studios, writings or in everyday life, must unite this energy in the square with their peers regarding the common problem that is corruption, injustice, lack of competition, election theft, theft of the state budget and this can only happen in one way: if we all understand that party fences impede the flows to create citizens' cohesion with each other, for this reason we have said this is a protest without a logo, a protest that absolutely requires a great unity under a common symbol that identifies all citizens, which is the national flag, with some common demands, which is the resignation of the current government and the creation of a transitional government with a 12-month mandate, composed of the most prominent intellectuals. good that we have at home and abroad, to make a package of electoral reforms to organize the first democratic and fair elections in Albania, removing Edi Rama's opportunity to lead the government during the elections, to misuse the state budget, the permits and licenses granted by the state, to mistreat the administration or to use the Ministry of Interior to create access to crime.

We are waiting for them in the square 24 hours a day, so on the 20th, to be clear, it is a protest that has not addressed what we say, the placement in the square 24/24, the removal of logos, the unification under a national flag, agreement on an electoral code that is national proportional with open lists, an electoral zone with 140 deputies. As long as these do not happen, we will not be in that protest", said Lapaj.

He also commended the intellectuals' initiative and explained that the protest had been postponed earlier due to negotiations with other parties, with the aim of them remaining in the square continuously for the cause against the government, which according to him did not materialize.

Lapaj announced that the next protest called by the movement he leads will be held on February 28.

"On February 28, on Saturday, we will call the fifth major protest and I believe that the number will be larger, it has always been increasing. We are waging an unstoppable battle with everything we can against those who steal this country. This is not a battle that is fought with tourist protests, nor by coming and staying here for two hours, nor by negotiating in parliament with those who steal this country," concluded Lapaj.
