As the opposition prepares for the big protest this Monday at 6:00 PM in front of the Prime Minister's Office, political tones are becoming harsher. One of the most direct voices has been Ilir Alimehmeti, head of the Health Department in the Democratic Party and member of the party's National Council, who has called for the protest not to remain symbolic, but to turn into a popular revolt for the removal of the government.

In an interview with News24, Alimehmeti stated that all the leading structures of the Socialist Party are involved in scandals that endanger national security and that the current government has lost legitimacy. He called on citizens of all political persuasions, including socialist voters, to join today's protest to "stop corruption and theft."

" I don't believe in simple protests, but in strong protests. There must be a popular revolt. We know that people are fed up with this government, but this requires concrete demonstration ," said Alimehmeti.

He also raised serious concerns about public safety and the quality of investments, stating that citizens' lives have been put at risk by the government's corrupt schemes.

The protest is expected to be held on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, in an area filled with festive decorations, which have already been moved by the Municipality of Tirana to avoid possible damage. Warnings of tensions have also come from the US Embassy, which has advised its personnel to avoid the area.
