Former president Bamir Topi has called on internationals to intervene and exert pressure for a reform in Albanian politics.
In an interview for "Report Tv", Topi said that the same as for the Justice Reform, the internationals should exert pressure to achieve the liberation of the political parties from those whom the former head of state called 'usurpers'.
"I appeal to those partners who exerted the right positive pressure to make the reform in justice. They should do the same to make the reform in politics. Do not expect voluntary change from the sinners. Internationals make the reform in politics! Let the political parties be freed. from the usurpers" , said Bamir Topi.
According to him, the situation we are in politically is a result of the agreement made between Rama and Berisha in 2008 with the constitutional changes. Topi said that he had warned Berisha earlier, telling him that such an agreement would backfire on him.
"There is a lot of ignorance in this area of Albanian society. We fail to understand when a strong signal comes from the one who is at the head of the state at a given moment. When I spoke that this situation that is today will come step by step, I had everyone against it. Only a very small part, 4 or 5 people in PD, Meta's party and a special voice. They got into a political psychosis, showing that not only did they not know the life of the institutions, but they were blind soldiers of those who made the dirtiest compromise, the constitutional changes of 2008. I told Berisha directly that what he is doing will it turns into a boomerang because one day the one you will face who will be in power, you can't knock him down anymore" , said the former president.
While talking about the former prime minister Sali Berisha, he said that he feels bad when he sees him in that situation and added that the head of Reestablishment has a real problem with justice, adding that this is a personal report and not a general one.
