Ilir Meta has returned to the political scene. After the defeat in the elections, he went out of circulation, but now he has appeared again. Today he attacked the government for legalizing cannabis.
The head of PL said that the government has not consulted with the EU on the draft law on the legalization of medical cannabis. In a communication to the media, Meta spoke against this decision and according to him the government and the police are tied together.
"With the draft law on cannabis, the government is forced to pay them for the major contribution. This is approved at a time when the drug trafficking situation has been more serious than ever. The situation is serious and when the government and the police are caught head to head. There is a total failure in the fight against it. EU representatives confirm that the government has not consulted with them about such a law", said Meta.
Meanwhile, the leader of PL also spoke about the police operation in the Mujahideen camp in Manzë. He stated that the police operation was a political action and there is a lack of transparency from the government. According to him, there is a change in the government's behavior towards the Mujahideen, but the reason is unknown.
"In my assessment, you are dealing with a non-transparent behavior by our government, a political action, we have heard that their political commitment contrary to their status is one of the reasons that has been reached in an assessment that they have committed a violation of the agreement with the Albanian government. These activities have been made public in Albania or other countries where many political representatives from the majority and the opposition have participated.
The action did not serve the image of the country. Court decisions, we know who controls the courts and prosecutor's offices. We have a change in political behavior, we don't know what the reason is. Our government is the first to break the laws and is the protagonist of violence," he said.
