"An ugly farce" has been considered by the democratic deputy, Saimir Korreshi, the process being developed for the election of the new chairman of the Democratic Party.
In 'RTSH 24', Korreshi said that this process divides the democrats more, at a time when, according to the deputy, what should be done is to find ways to unite them.
" An ugly farce that the Democrats are playing against each other. This leads to thinking in a rush to catch the party. There was 1 and a half years without a chairman and this Presidency is now in a hurry to hold elections for the chairman. There is a big trick here. The presidency did not set up working groups to begin the process for grassroots organizing. We have sought full inclusion throughout. We need to think about how to unite the Democrats. If we think about how to become leaders, it is absurd ," said Korreshi.
Regarding the candidacy of Lulzim Basha for the head of the DP, Korreshi said that he is not the right alternative. According to Korreshi, the DP needs a new spirit and the removal of Basha, former prime minister Sali Berisha and vice president Enkelejd Alibeaj.
" Regarding his candidacy, my opinion is that neither Sali Berisha nor Sali Berisha should run again to take the leadership of the DP, a new spirit is needed. In order to achieve a union of democrats, a process should be opened where all the democrats are included and the best thing would be for Basha, Berisha and Alibeaj to leave this post to the democrats", said Korreshi .
The elections for the head of the DP will be held on July 29, while Lulzim Basha and Gjergj Hani are in the running. This process seems to have divided the DP even more, as several MPs, including the head of the democratic parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, have expressed their opposition.
