The Democratic Party has ready the draft for the diaspora vote.
In the document provided by A2 CNN , the Democrats demand that the right to vote be guaranteed not only to resident immigrants, but to all Albanian citizens regardless of whether they have a declared address in the state where they have moved.
" The right to vote from outside the territory of the Republic of Albania belongs to every Albanian citizen with the right to vote who, for reasons of residence, work, study, military service, or treatment, is outside the territory of the Republic of Albania on the date of the elections ", it is written in the PD draft.
Even with regard to voter registration and how they will vote again, the Democrats are divided with the Socialists in their proposal.
" The registration of voters who vote from outside the territory of the Republic of Albania is carried out directly by the CEC. The process of drafting the list of voters who vote from outside the territory of the Republic of Albania begins 100 days before the election date and ends 50 days before this date. The list of voters after the end of the process does not change under any circumstances and for any reason after the deadline provided in this point ", the proposal states.
As for the post office, the opposition demands international guarantees and leaves it up to the CEC to select a foreign company through a tender. "CEC selects through an open procedure a postal operator with international experience and reputation that provides fast mail".
The draft has already received the approval of the parliamentary group, which was confirmed by the head of the Gazment Bardhi group at the media conference during the day, but it is expected that the allies will also give their consent and the proposal will be made officially in the Assembly.
