"The DP has no chance to unite", Artan Fuga: Rama can ask Basha to

Academician Artan Fuga spoke about the political situation in the country. He made a strong statement today as he raised the possible hypothesis of cooperation between DP, Basha and Edi Rama's Socialist Party.

In an interview for "News24", Fuga said that many things can change and that these developments in politics can bring about a Rama-Basha coalition.

"Every person has the right to continue his political life and to be in politics. I have two reflections, the first; the whole process that ended with the selection of Mr. Basha, leaves a bitter taste. Public opinion, not only me, does not accept it. It was said that 50,000 members were unregistered, while around 18,000 voted. These 18 thousand who voted, you got the minority vote and these 50 thousand are no longer me. So you prove that you were in the minority. Does Mr. Basha have the majority in the parliamentary group? No, there isn't. We come to the electorate. What did the electorate of the group that today is led by Mr. Basha and that today calls PD give in the last elections? Scary low numbers. He comes to the head of DP with questionable procedures. We come to the second reflection; are there chances that this grouping that he will create, among these factions, that should not be judged today.

There are moments in history where the situation changes within two hours. I think that Mr. Basha thinks that at a certain moment, 3-4 political events can happen that can give him the electorate. This is not excluded, because we have an electorate that does not work with certain convictions. He is so to speak volatile-butterfly. I think that in the head of Mr. Basha is that; I have created a structure, I have a number of deputies in the Assembly, I will need from the majority. The majority can ask Mr. Basha for an alliance, to co-govern at a certain moment. I don't rule it out. There may be crises, or money issues. I hear Rama saying; I want to go beyond PS. Why doesn't it also go to PD? There is no chance that DP will join, with this division. There are events that neither party is able to avoid. Anything could happen. We talk about the future as possibility. One possibility is for Mr. Basha, invited by Mr. Rama, to form a co-governance alliance, anything can happen. Mr. Basha makes these calculations, that if he gets a ministry, he increases the electorate. It will lose a part of the PD electorate, but it means that it will gain something else. It may happen that in the next 3-4 years there may be developments that could bring about the merger of DP. This grouping of Mr. Basha, which he calls DP, for which I have a problem, because when it excludes 50 thousand members, it is hard to call it. But if you look at the political positions, they are neither meat nor fish. I think that Mr. Basha is not unaware" increases the electorate.
