DP MP Dashnor Sula said that in the meeting he had with Lulzim Basha during the plenary session, he made it clear that DP does not need a chairman for survival, but one who can unify and lead to victory.
In an interview for Report TV, Sula said that in the meeting with Basha, she asked him for an offer and a new face in PD. He also stated that in the situation in which the opposition is at these moments, it does nothing but give the victory to Rama again in 2025.
" In this situation that the opposition is in today, at war with each other, eating each other, it is a situation that I think should not go to the 2025 elections and Rama and SP will win those elections. I derive this from the situation, events and results of May 14.
Today I had a meeting with Basha and I made it clear to him that during these days we need to understand an analysis or the path of Basha or other people who will run for survival, this does not apply to my approach. It takes one DP to win. We have to see if Basha brings a victory? Does it unify the opposition? I am convinced that we need a new offer and new faces for Albanian society, everything different so that Rama and SP do not throw mud. At this moment, neither Berisha, nor Basha, nor Meta can lead the opposition to victory ", said Sula.
Sula explained that the burning of mandates in the 2019 elections caused the SP to change the electoral code and the opposition was left without a municipality. According to him, PD would not be in this situation if it did not abandon the local elections of 4 years ago.
We remind you that the Presidency of the DP decided to open the race for the new president, which will be held on July 29, while the candidacies are submitted until June 20.
