The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, proposed a platform for the unification of the Democratic Party, but which has not been widely approved by either the democrats or the public opinion.
In an interview for the show "Now" on "Euronews Albania", it was the journalist Arian Çani who came out against Bardhi's proposal, since according to him this plan is simply a waste of time.
According to Çani, the DP does not have time to decide on the election of the new leader, as the general elections are coming very soon and the DP will find itself in the same situation.
" To tell you the truth, I see it from the outside, because Mr. Bardhi certainly has a different point of view because he is inside, and of course if you see an event from the inside and see it from the outside, the angle changes completely. Looking at it from the outside, and I ask Mr. Bardhi for understanding here, I think that all this is happening is a terrible waste of time. I don't see it as a certain entity, that is, the DP. Whoever it was, in the current conditions it is a waste of time. If we were in a system where the next electoral station would be after 10 years, I would understand very well, I would even tell Gazi to take it slow. The problem is that I cannot say this because the elections are after 2 years and 2 years are nothing in a political and electoral journey ", Çani explained.
