The rival of Lulzim Basha in the race for the chairman of the Democratic Party, Gjergj Hani, says that the leaders of the 3 groups of the largest opposition party must reflect in order to bring about the union. He says that he entered the competition, as he was not convinced by Basha's return.
In an interview for "Ora News", Gjergj Hani was not convinced if Lulzim Basha should be re-elected as chairman of the Democratic Party, this is also the reason he entered the race.
"My attempt was simply a moral uprising. The return of Mr. Basha was not convincing to me", said Hani.
But even though he admits that he expected the result of July 29, Gjergj Hani says that he continued the race with the conviction that the Democrats should see a new spirit.
"I don't consider it a big loss. With as many opportunities as I had to reflect the electoral campaign, almost 11 voted for the Democrats, although with very limited opportunities. I expected such a thing and I was aware of it. They chose the alternative", he said.
According to him, the insecurity of the Democrats keeps them within the old frameworks.
As for the unification of the democrats under one logo and seal, there is only one solution, reflection and acceptance of mistakes by the leaders of the three groups.
"There is only one alternative and first the truths must be told. In other words, you have the opportunity to make a political career, but also to make a mea culpe for what happened", said Hani.
According to Hani, corruption and crime did not arise when Rama came to power, but the current majority has strengthened them.
"The current situation where corruption is rampant, massive theft, violation of human rights, denial of rights did not happen in a day. We cannot import all this to the government of Mr. Rama", he said.
As for his continuity, the candidate Gjergj Hani said that he will continue his contribution to the opposition.
