Ilirjana Kuçana, the Democratic Party's candidate for deputy, spoke about the situation within the Democratic Party and the discussions on the vote recount.
She is among the MPs who have requested that the ballot boxes for the candidates be recounted, as according to them there are suspicions of vote tampering.
She said that there have been critical voices about this approach both inside and outside the DP, but according to her, she made this decision for the citizens of Durrës, who want to know the truth.
"The truth must come to light. The truth is sometimes bitter, but it is true. Those who criticize us today. Maybe they look at us with suspicion. I assure them that after transparency, everyone will understand that we are doing a great honor. This is not a decision that I made for Ilirjana, I made it for the citizens of Durrës, because they told me that they voted for me. There is a certain area where I do not get the votes of my family members. This was the shadow of doubt. How could my family members not have voted for me. I was present myself at the counting when 5 votes passed from my name to the name of another candidate. I was present myself ," Kuçana told Euronews Albania.
