The Chairman of the Council of the Democratic Party in the Municipality of Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, has reacted after the Constitutional Court's decision prohibiting the holding of elections for the Municipality of Tirana, suspending the President's decree setting their date.

Invited to the show "Off the Record" on "A2CNN", Alimehmeti was asked if he was satisfied with this decision, but he stated that the situation has become chaotic due to government interventions.

" I am not satisfied with the course of things. Here, the Constitution, the Prime Minister, the President... it is a mess. It would have been very simple if these things had been implemented. The municipal council would have been convened in May, the Council of Ministers would have done its duty and the mayor would have 15 days, and we would still be in June with a normal order of succession ," he said.

According to Alimehmet, recent decision-making has created a complicated institutional situation.

"The Prime Minister comes with orders, confuses the dates and puts pressure on the President ," he concluded.
