DP MP Jozefina Topalli has 'advised' the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Pelesh, based on her experience at the head of this institution.
Topalli says that the political decision Peleshi has made is to silence the opposition. Among other things, she tells Peleshi that he should resign from his position, at a time when they are not allowed to respect the regulations and the law.
"The task of the Speaker of the Assembly is not easy. Not today, many times you will find yourself facing difficult situations if you do not decide that you will stick to the rules only. I am very impressed that you talk about the manual and it seems to you that it stands above the rules. It is the same as saying that the law stands above the Constitution. There is a history of parliamentarism and it has never happened that deputies wanted to ask questions, and were denied the right to ask questions.
Therefore, the political order you have received is to silence the opposition, this is serious. It has never happened since the institutions have come to report and the deputies have wanted to ask questions, they have never been denied their right. A person decides to leave a chair if the law they are forced to implement contradicts the political decision of the majority. I voted against the prosecutors general proposed by the majority when I was the speaker of the parliament. These are difficult decisions, but they are decisions that a person makes based on conscience", said Topalli.
