"Joint Movement" has announced that on Saturday at 11:00, in "Skënderbej" Square, it will hold a protest with the motto "All before justice", to protest against the political caste and oligarchs who have controlled the country together for many years.
Its director, Arlind Qori, stated in the show "Te Paespozuarit" on MCN TV that today the Tirana police have informed them that they should not go out of Skënderbej Square, with the motive of not hindering the work of the institutions. Qori said this is a standard where a peaceful protest is opposed to protect a few people who are extorting the country.
" On Saturday at 11.00, in "Skënderbej" Square, we will go to the municipality of Tirana, then to the Prime Minister's Office to protest against corruption and not only against it. Today we received an answer from the Director of the Police of Tirana, Tonin Vocaj who told us: Because you will obstruct the work of the institutions, God knows how we obstruct Saturday, so shouting in the street, we block the Prime Minister in Surrel and you will divert traffic. For these two reasons, we do not allow you to leave "Skënderbej" Square. So gather there, make some kind of spectacle, but you are forbidden to appear in front of the institutions.
This is scandalous, that is, for the State Police to tell you that you do not have the right to protest peacefully, even though we sent the invitation a week in advance. This is the new standard. For the police to arrive, with a letter, and stop the right of citizens to protest against corruption peacefully, is a political asymmetry. I don't know in which country in the world a peaceful protest is opposed. This is a new standard to protect the few people who extort us breakfast, lunch, and dinner ," Qori said.
