The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, congratulated Muslim believers on Eid al-Fitr.
The Head of State conveyed special messages to the clerics during his visits to the institutions of the Muslim and Bektashi communities in Tirana.
President Begaj began his visits with the Great Mosque of Tirana, where he was received by the Mufti of the capital, Imam Bilal Teqja.
The President stated that the opening of the doors of this mosque fulfilled the long-standing request of the believers, for whom this was the first Ramadan with the Great Mosque, which also welcomes many tourists, as the Mufti of Tirana announced. The President emphasized the importance of unity among the believers and all Albanians, along with the wish that the devotion shown during this month will continue until the arrival of the next Ramadan.
Accompanied by the Mufti of Tirana, the Head of State walked towards the headquarters of the Albanian Muslim Community, where he was received by the President Bujar Spahiu, to whom he conveyed his congratulations on Eid al-Fitr, expressing: " Happy Eid al-Fitr! May this marked day be a day of solidarity, a day of kindness for all Albanians. May the words of the Holy Quran and the wise Prophet Muhammad serve every Albanian, every believer, as an example of inspiration in daily life, to be in solidarity with each other, to extend a hand to each other, to help families in need and to be united in the service of our greater interest, in the service of the interest of civic harmony, of interfaith dialogue ."
The President also congratulated the Bektashi believers on this Eid. He visited the headquarters of the World Bektashi Patriarchate, where he was received by Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, from where he conveyed messages on the moral values that keep a society away from the temptation to run towards material things.
