The head of "Nisma Thurje" Endri Shabani spoke about the political situation before the May 11 elections and the electoral campaign.
He stated that on May 11, some of the "oldies" will leave politics through the vote and some others will leave "in handcuffs."
Shabani said that Rama, Berisha and Meta, the three people who have governed Albania for 34-35 years, should have retired from their party or the government and given the younger generation a chance.
"Every election has the emotion of the campaign, but I see it from a historical perspective. I saw the same climate in the '90s when the cycle of the regime was ending and a new cycle was beginning. I was 5 years old at that time, but I remembered what my parents told me.
At this moment, changes are happening, a transition is happening, a political generational rotation is happening, which is happening reluctantly by the three people who have governed Albania for 34-35 years, who should have retired from their party or from the government and given an opportunity to the new generation.
But some will leave with handcuffs, some with votes on May 11. So one political cycle is ending and another is beginning, and this brings emotions to people who want to continue living here .
We were first registered as a political party in January 2021, and we participated in the elections after 4 months. I see that there is a change both for us as "Nisma Thurje", but also for Albania.
Albania today is not the same as it was in 2021 and a lot has happened in 4 years. Now the extreme need for change prevails and wherever I go and talk to people there are two things that come together in two elements: the first is the urgent need for change and the second is the fact that most young people do not see their future here and live alone without their parents, most of whom have no one to take care of them.
About 600,000 pensioners watch their children through their laptop screens because they don't have them with them and this is a constant concern everywhere in the neighborhood, taxis, etc. and we want to address this, and the young people who will enter Parliament can provide a model for other young people of what Albania can become and give them another chance and not find the solution just by running away. And secondly, those who have left should also have the opportunity to return to their parents.
I see people who want hope, I see young people who don't want to leave their homes but are forced to. I see parents who want their children to come home and be with them, and they understand the reason why this happens.
For 34-35 years, Albania has been governed by three people who are responsible for why Albania is in this state, and we are here to see their luxury and that they continue to enrich themselves with their villas at the expense of the fate of this nation, and this is the need for change.
"We have a program, a political manifesto and 6 packages that we want to send to parliament, but this is secondary, it is important that people vote for us in order to take revenge on this political class," said Shabani.
