The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has leveled strong accusations of corruption against the Government, regarding the draft law proposed by the socialist MP for Vlora, Zamira Sina, on tourist ports.
During his speech in the Assembly, Bardhi said that this draft law serves the interests of 3-4 people. He also added that strategic investments are tenders awarded without competition by the Government, while adding that the Kukes airport has ceased to function, while the Vlora Triport is owned by a pensioner who has no connection to the project.
"The first act that your new deputy makes in the plenary session is not like a law that solves your problems. There are the problems of 2-3 individuals, because I don't know more people who might be interested in building tourist ports. And the first act, the first law that she brings to the Assembly, is a law for two people. Today the lady raised the red card, voted against the law to ease the fiscal burden and reduce the price of oil.
And it is the same majority that when it comes to reducing the price of oil for yachts, they raise the green card, while when it comes to reducing the price of oil for citizens and farmers, they raise the red card. And they tell us 'why are you voting against'. Of course we will vote against, because we are not here to represent the interests of 5 individuals. When you approved the law on strategic investments in 2015, you promised Albanian citizens that you would facilitate the procedures to attract foreign investments. Tell us a little about how much foreign investment you have attracted from the implementation of the law on strategic investments. You tell us 'come to the Assembly and vote for a law for Olta Xhaçka and Pëllumb Gjoka. While we have proposed 18 laws, all in the interest of Albanian citizens.
How is it possible that you call the fight against corruption a class war? You have predetermined every project related to airports and ports. The Kukes Airport without competition has been put out of operation. All those investments are used by the kids from Kukes who race cars with each other. The Vlora Port, without competition, determined. Only last week, some of the officials involved in these procedures were prosecuted. What have you done with Triport in Vlora? Today the owner is a pensioner who has no connection to the project at all. We are not against development, but these projects should be awarded through competition", said Bardhi, among other things.
