The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has once again commented on the citizens' protests against the government of Edi Rama and the opposition, where one of the most repeated calls has been "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison."
During a meeting with the DP's Education Department, Berisha addressed the protesters' accusations against Prime Minister Rama, saying that they are right when they call him a "traitor."
According to him, the head of government has severely damaged the interests of Albanians, both through the massive departure of citizens from the country, and through his stance towards Kosovo.
Berisha described the mass emigration of Albanians as "demographic genocide," while accusing the government of corruption, abuses, and harmful attitudes toward Kosovo.
"So it is a protest of the citizens, it is a protest of the civic fiber. And there is nothing more beautiful and precious than this. Citizens decide to stand up for their interests and those of their country. They say to Edi Rama: 'You traitor.' But if there is anyone who has betrayed Albania and Albanians as much as Edi Rama, there is none. And they say, why do they call him a traitor.
He has behaved worse towards the Albanians in Kosovo than Vučić. He is the man who first imposed sanctions on the Kosovo government, which should not have been imposed. And here he was telling Europe not to ask Vučić to respect the sanctions against Russia.
This guy becomes Aleksandar Vučić's lawyer from summit to summit, boasting that he doesn't have to be asked to respect the sanctions of his 'Big Brother', and he himself imposed sanctions on Kosovo. Why? Because the Kosovo leadership, with all due respect, told him that the decision here is made by the citizens of Kosovo and their representatives, and not you with Vučić and others. Therefore, not a traitor, but a super-traitor.
They were entering into negotiations... What business did Albania have to mediate, to become a pawn in the negotiations at the expense of Kosovo? Never, ever.
He demanded the absolute withdrawal of Russia in resolving the Kosovo-Serbia disputes. And he demanded, together with Vučić, an international conference, at a time when pro-Albanian internationals had driven Russia out.
They had deliberately driven Russia out. And they had taken it upon themselves, they had appointed a European Union mediator, who worked closely with the State Department mediator to mediate. He said to hold an international conference now, because that's what Vučić was telling him.
But his greatest betrayal of Albanians is the genocide he committed by expelling 1.1 million Albanians, according to Eurostat data, from the European Union alone, not counting hundreds of thousands more in other countries in Europe and the world. So he is a traitor of the highest order.
"He is the biggest looter of Albanians. 4 billion euros is the loot of the Port of Durres. 4 billion euros, absolutely! And now the Dubai palaces of his '1001 nights' are being driven into the sand, they are sinking into the sand ," Berisha said.
