This move from Rama comes a few weeks after the entire Executive Secretariat of the Socialist Party was dismissed and Blendi Klosi was provisionally appointed as General Secretary.
What is expected from the SP Assembly the next day?
The Socialist Party will make changes for the second time this year regarding the internal organization in the assembly that will be held on Monday.
Chief Socialist Edi Rama is expected to appoint the new secretariat, which has remained vacant. In the Assembly of July 26, Damian Gjiknuri was dismissed from the position of general secretary of the SP, and Blendi Klosi was appointed temporarily in his place as the number 2 of the SP.
Another important development in the assembly of July 26 was the Bledi Çuçi-Taulant Balla board, who exchanged positions with each other.
Bledi Çuçi, who was dismissed from the position of Minister of the Interior, was appointed the new head of the parliamentary group of the SP, instead of Taulant Balla. The latter was appointed to the post of Interior Minister left vacant by Bledi Çuçi.
But changes are expected not only in the organization of the pink headquarters. Dismissals and new appointments can be expected and as for the government cabinet, this possibility is left open by Edi Rama himself.
At the conference a few days ago, Rama left open the possibility of reforming the government, and yet we have to wait for the Assembly of the SP.
"Wait a few more days, the meeting of the SP Assembly is coming soon," declared Rama on August 25, 2023.
In December 2018, from the Socialist Assembly, Edi Rama changed almost half of the ministers, with the aim, as he declared at the time, "to give new impulses to the government".
Edi Rama gave the first signals for strong changes in the ranks of the party in power that he leads in the last assembly on July 26.
For the first time in the history of this political force en-bloc dismissed the entire party secretariat, despite the fact that in the last local elections the socialists won a spectacular victory.
