Lulzim Basha has not yet released the list of 140 candidates for deputies for the 2025 parliamentary elections, while he promised that it would be ready by March 31. DP spokesperson Mirela Krabina said that the list of candidates will be presented at the beginning of May.
Karabina said that the promise could not be kept because of the organization process, stressing that they are not in a hurry to make formal elections.
"We were in an organismic process. We thought it would be over sooner. The party has been in an internal aggression. Throughout this period after September 9, the process has lasted as we have not rushed to hold formal elections. But let's choose people with integrity, the hardliners. So the process dragged on. The leadership structures of the DP branches throughout Albania will have their own proposals for future candidates. Within the month and in the Assembly that will be held in May, there will definitely be a list of candidates. A part from the leadership of the branches and another part from the chairman and will go to the DP leadership for approval.
The strength of PD is moral and professional integrity. Every candidate will pass the law of decriminalization and lustration" , said Karabina for "ReportTV".
As for the Dialogue group that arose between Rithemel and the SP in the Assembly, Karabina said that it is a bargain between the two parties for their interests. She emphasized that Basha is not lost as he has clear proposals. Karabina said that even though the SP wanted a bargain, the PD was not part of any bargain.
