Tomorrow's Friday will be decisive regarding the "Partizani" case. For 5 months, Judge Flojera Davidhi has held the case hostage, not deciding whether or not it will go to trial.
SPAK has taken former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi and 3 others as defendants, businessman Fatmir Bektashi, Malltezi's partner, Xhimi Begeja and financier, Andia Pustina. But even though the file went to trial at the end of last year, we have not had any decision.
Tomorrow at 09:30, it seems that the "stone from the rock" will be separated, as we will understand whether we are dealing with a delaying scheme, or whether the file will go into a hole.
In the last session, the defense of the accusing parties, who are requesting that the investigations be discontinued, ended. Tomorrow, the prosecutors of the case will speak, who will give the arguments as to why this file should go to trial. In the end, the judge must decide: to discontinue the investigations, return the file for re-investigation, or pass it on to trial. Always if no one gets sick and the session drags on. In the political corridors, there is talk that Berisha is trying to postpone it until after the elections and tomorrow it will be clear what is being cooked.
Sali Berisha and Malltezi have been charged with abuses in the privatization of properties at the former "Partizani" Complex. The prosecution states that the former prime minister has committed the criminal offense of "Passive Corruption of High State Officials or Local Elected Officials" provided for in Article 260 and 25 of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Malltezi is suspected of having committed the criminal offense of "Passive Corruption of High State Officials or Local Elected Officials".
