But why did Ilir Meta decide to return at this very moment?
The answer to this question was given by the vice president of the Freedom Party, Endrit Braimllari.
"The May 14 elections produced a different reality for the opposition in terms of local government because we were represented in the municipal councils. We were outside the institutions and entered the institutions. After May 14, there was a moment of reflection about the way political forces are positioned in the country. I think that at these moments it is important to consolidate every opposition factor, in order to confront this regime that is deepening into illegality, there is a need to consolidate the role of the opposition, but above all, there is a need for clear messages that go directly to the daily concerns of citizens.
We are in coordination with the entire opposition united front. We have been in constant coordination for the opposition action. Of course, there are debates, there are different alternatives and proposals, but we believe that we have already entered a heated phase of the political situation in the country where the opposition no longer has the chance to make a mistake, as far as its consolidation is concerned," Braimllari said. .
